Description:No recurrence or erectile dysfunction was noted in any of the patients. It was Braun Falco, in , who first described phlebitis of the dorsal veins of the penis within the context of generalized phlebitis. Only 1 patient had recurrent thrombosis 3 months after the initial episode, again related to intercourse. If a historical cause is unclear, it is worthy of note in case the patient presents with another thrombus. This article has been cited by other articles in PMC. Extensive or invasive treatment should be reserved only for patients whose symptoms fail to resolve with conservative therapy within 6 months or who have severe symptoms that affect their daily lives. I just hope mine resolves before that.
