Description:A computerized version of the Ekman-Friesen Pictures of Facial affect test Ekman and Friesen, was developed for this study. Participants were required to click the mouse on the emotion label happy, sad, angry, fearful, disgusted, and surprised — presented in this standardized order that best described what they thought the individual was feeling. Images were presented in a single block with gender and emotion inter-mixed. The ability to read the emotional labels and respond with a mouse-click was tested in all children.
