Description:The biggest decline has occurred among nonblacks: This is due in part to the unsettling evidence that many groups of men do not prefer black women. This shift in opinion has been driven both by attitude change among individuals generally and by the fact that over the period, successive generations have reached adulthood with more racially liberal views than earlier generations. By the same token, black men who date white women are "trading up" on the American racial hierarchy. I have even dated outside of my racial group, and I married someone who isn't black -- a Native American man with, I must add, distant French and African ancestry. In today's dating market black women are less preferred -- and here is the kicker -- sometimes even by black men. This high level of acceptance among Millennials holds true across ethnic and racial groups; there is no significant difference between white, black and Hispanic Millennials in the degree of acceptance of interracial marriage.
